These are books I have read and rated on a 5 star system. I read across genres (though I need to get better on my nonfiction) based on recommendations, interesting premises, and pretty covers. To misquote a friend, “I buy my books like I buy my wine…by the case!”
I purposely keep these reviews BRIEF! First off, who of us has the time, really? Also, I don’t like giving everything away in the review, because the whole point is that you will *hopefully* want to read the book after my recommendation.
Why should you care about my opinion? Well, I read a lot. Generally to avoid social interactions that I deem boring or monotonous. Also I read in waiting rooms, in traffic jams (sometimes even as the driver), before classes start, during commercial breaks, during sporting events, on meal breaks…you get the idea. I’ve even been quite successful at selling books professionally. Thank goodness it’s not drugs or some might call me an addict.
Also, I’m introducing the idea of Book Soundtracks. I firmly believe that just as music in films, on Broadway, and during the shower truly heighten the experience, books benefit from the addition as well. So I include in most reviews music that flows through my mind, plays on the radio, or perfectly encapsulates the book I am reading. Enjoy! Comments and additional suggestions in a positive vein are always welcome to generate a conversation.
Danielle McCoy is a graduate of the theatre and has learned vast life experience through the drudgery of retail for decades. She is a mother of three, and thus devotes a large portion of her time to thwarting their attempts at world domination until they are old enough to stay up past 9pm without getting cranky. Her benevolent husband tolerates her voracious book appetite with gracious aplomb, especially as the monthly book budget runs against all his core accountant values, and she consistently tries to sneak books into football games.
